On Monday morning, the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion announced welterweight Matt Riddle (Pictured) has agreed to serve as a last-minute substitute to fight Besam Yousef at “UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit.”
Yousef was originally slotted to face Stephen Thompson in the November 17th event, but Thompson was recently forced to exit stage left with an undisclosed injury.
Riddle is fresh off serving a 90-day marijuana suspension. His failed UFC 149 drug exam forced the Calgary Combative Sports Commission to overturn July’s submission victory over Chris Clements to a no contest.
Yousef was submitted by Simeon Thoresen in his big league debut in April at “UFC on FUEL TV 2.” The up-and-comer had posted a perfect 6-0 mark prior to signing with the UFC.
UFC 154 takes place inside Montreal’s Bell Centre.
