The UFC officially announced today, what had been rumored for months, the addition of four more bouts to their UFC 88 card scheduled to take place on September 6th at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The night will be headlined by former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell taking on the undefeated Rashad Evans.The UFC announced the addition of a lightweight bout between Brazilian Jiu Jitsu specialist, Kurt Pellegrino, and Thiago Tavares. Both fighters are looking to bounce back off of losses
Former “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 7 competitor, Matt Brown, will be making his second Octagon appearance against Dong Hyun Kim. Brown won his UFC debut over Matt Arroyo at The Ultimate Fighter finale last month. Kim also won in his debut with a TKO over Jason Tan at UFC 84.
Tim Boetsch will also be taking on James Lee in a light heavyweight bout, as well as match-up while Ryo Chonan, who is fresh off an injury, will take on Roan Carneiro.
There are also rumors that current UFC Middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, may be added to this card as a co-main event. However, the UFC is also pondering having him fight on the 89 or 90 card as well. He would be taking on Patrick Cote.
