Word on the street is that a lightweight fight between Tyson Griffin and Jim Miller is expected to take place at UFC 108. The January 2nd extravaganza will be jumping off inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

MMAjunkie.com reported that both fighters have been approached about the contest, with at least one verbally accepting the bout.

Griffin momentarily silenced his critics in his last outing when he slapped Hermes Franca silly to earn a 2ndRound TKO win. It was his second consecutive W and the first finish he’s had since submitting David Lee with a rear-naked choke at UFC 63, eight fights ago.

Speaking of two-fight win streaks, Miller has bounced back with victories over Steve Lopez and “The Ultimate Fighter 6” winner Mac Danzig after suffering a disappointing loss to undefeated Gray Maynard at UFC 96 back in March.

Although nothing about the card has “officially” been confirmed by the organization, it’s heavily-rumored it will be headlined by the middleweight title bout between champion Anderson Silva and “top contender” Vitor Belfort.

Here are the other fighters rumored to be competing in the pay-per-view broadcast:

Cole Miller vs. Dan Lauzon
Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout
Tyson Griffin vs. Jim Miller
Carlos Condit vs. Paul Daley
Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabe Gonzaga
Thiago Silva vs. Rashad Evans
Vitor Belfort vs. Anderson Silva (UFC Middleweight Champion)
