Irvin Tests Positive

UFC light heavyweight competitor, James Irvin, has allegedly tested positive for the non-approved analgesic painkillers Methadone and Oxymorphone. The post-fight urinalysis was conducted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Irvin has been temporarily suspended pending a disciplinary hearing by the Commission. The Commission will put to a vote how long they intend to revoke his ability to compete. There has not been a date set for the hearing as of yet.

Irvin lost to current UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, just two weeks ago at UFC Fight Night 14. Irvin was defeated by Silva in only 61 seconds, however, it seems as though that fight is going to cost Irvin much more time.

As of late this afternoon, neither Irvin or his Manager had any comment on the positive test results. We will keep you posted as more details become available.
