“Tuesdays just got TUF,” this according to the ad placed in the latest edition of UFC 360 magazine. “The Ultimate Fighter 17” makes its debut Tuesday, January 22nd at 9PM ET on FX.
Although an official announcement has yet to be made by the UFC regarding its transition from Fridays, an FX representative has confirmed the move.
This marks the third significant change the long-running reality series has undergone in as many seasons since airing on FX. In the network’s debut edition, they tested the live format waters to try and pump some much-needed life into the show.
However, they decided to revert back to the pre-recorded format for TUF 16.
FX also moved it from the Wednesdays it enjoyed on Spike TV for 14 seasons to Fridays.
TUF 17 will open for two of FX’s most popular original series. Depending upon the season of the year, the station alternates between “Sons of Anarchy” and “Justified” in the 10PM ET timeslot.
The latest edition of TUF features light heavyweight king Jon Jones (Pictured) and Chael Sonnen. The rivals will collide April 27th for “Bones'” belt.
