1stRound:

It appeared that Shogun slipped on a kick attempt and Gustafsson followed him to the canvas to attack. The youngster is a little too careless with his assault and almost gets caught in a kneebar submission. They get to their feet. Shogun connects with a knee to the dome while in the clinch. Shogun tags him with a right hand and follows up with a takedown. Gustafsson has him pressed against the cage.

2ndRound:

Shogun connects with a right hand. Shogun attempted to trip his opponent to the mat, but Gustafsson ends up on top for a moment. Shogun forges ahead and scores with a flurry. Gustafsson trips the former champ to the ground, though isn’t able to keep him there. However, he tags Shogun with some strikes as they separate.

3rdRound:

Shogun’s right eye is starting to swell. Gustafsson working hard for a takedown and secures it. Shogun easily pushes him away and they are back to their feet. Gustafsson plants him on his back again. Shogun scrambles free, but eats a kick to the body that clearly hurt him. Two minutes remaining and Shogun looks far more tired than the Swede. Gustafsson clocks him with a front kick to the grill.
