Michael Bisping (Pictured) “probably” got some great news on Saturday night, and he didn’t even have to lift a finger to receive it. According to UFC president Dana White, after 17 forays inside the Octagon, resulting in only four losses, “The Count” may finally find himself in a title fight.
The only thing Bisping needs to do is beat Vitor Belfort at “UFC on FX 7’ and he’ll “probably” earn next dibs at Anderson Silva’s crown.
“If Bisping wins, Bisping will probably get that next shot,” White shared following Saturday’s ‘The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale’ post-fight press conference.
Feel free to intemperate White’s statement how you wish. As MMA fans know full well, MMA’s ultimate shot caller can change course at the drop of a dime.
Unfortunately for Bisping, he’ll have to enter hostile territory to get what he’s long been clamoring for. The Brit battles “The Phenom” on January 19th inside Ginasio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Bisping has won five of his past six scraps. He was most recently seen hanging a convincing unanimous decision victory over Brian Stann at UFC 152.
The 33-year-old’s only blemish during his current run came against former top contender Chael Sonnen.
