Ronda Rousey (Pictured) can do no wrong. The freshly-minted UFC bantamweight queen’s whirlwind year just received another gust of awesomeness.
Rousey has notched #65 on Sports Illustrated’s “112 of 2012.” The list ranks the “most mystifying, monumental, mesmerizing and magical moments, memes and memories” of this past year.
The skyrocketing 25-year-old superstar is the only mixed martial artist to make SI’s exclusive club.
This announcement comes on the heels of Rousey scoring #43 on AskMen.com’s “Top 99 Women of 2013.”
Rousey’s other accomplishments in 2012 include becoming the UFC’s first female fighter and champion, donning the cover of ESPN the Magazine’s yearly The Body Issue, appearances on countless mainstream talk shows and adding two more lopsided title defenses on her résumé.
Here’s what SI had to say about the “Rowdy” one:
RISE OF RONDA ROUSEY
She’s the biggest rising star in women’s mixed martial arts, if not the sport as a whole. Ronda Rousey’s rise has been meteoric. In just nine fights (both professional and amateur) — all first-round victories by arm bar — Rousey has become an MMA sensation. In November, Rousey became the first female fighter to sign with the UFC. She’s scheduled to fight Liz Carmouche in her debut at UFC 157. The fight will not just be the UFC’s first women’s bout, it will also be the first women’s bout to headline a UFC pay-per-view. The UFC is banking heavily on Rousey.
