On Friday morning, it was announced middleweight turned welterweight Patrick Cote (Pictured) will meet Strikeforce transfer Bobby Voelker at UFC 158.
Cote was originally slated to grant Alessio Sakara a rematch in the March 16th show, but Sakara recently reported he would have to withdraw from the sequel with kidney issues.
Cote then confirmed he would be shedding 15 pounds and dropping to the 170-pound class.
Prior to meeting Sakara at UFC 154, which resulted in a disqualification after Sakara unleashed several illegal shots to the back of “The Predator’s” dome, Cote lost a decision to Cung Le in his return to the Octagon.
Voelker will be riding a three-fight winning streak into the shootout. He was last seen posting a TKO victory over Roger Bowling in July 2011.
UFC 158 takes place inside Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
is the card’s current roster:
Patrick Cote vs. Bobby Voelker
Jake Ellenberger vs. Johny Hendricks
Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald
Nick Diaz vs. Georges St-Pierre (UFC welterweight champion)
