Strikeforce Nate Marquardt

The roster for Strikeforce’s finale on Showtime, which is likely the promotion’s last ever, is all but set. “Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine” was supposed to feature three title tilts, but quickly shrunk to one courtesy of the injury bug.

Lightweight king Gilbert Melendez and middleweight champ Luke Rockhold were both forced to withdraw from their respective scraps.

A welterweight championship affair between Nate Marquardt (Pictured) and Tarec Saffiedine headlines the January 12th event.

The 11-bout lineup will be complete once the organization locates an opponent for Pat Healy. “Bam Bam” was initially slated to challenge Melendez for his 155-pound crown in the night’s featured attraction.

Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma hosts the festivities.

Showtime Extreme will broadcast the night’s prelims at 8PM ET/PT, while Showtime airs the main card at 10PM ET/PT.
