Did you miss Strikeforce’s final event, despite the fact Showtime was offering it during their free weekend preview? No worries, because we’ve located the highlights from “Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine” for your viewing pleasure.
The card was jammed packed full of underdogs, but only one longshot managed to pull through. And wouldn’t you know it, the upset special was served up in the main event.
Tarec Saffiedine (Pictured) continued to batter and bruise Nate Marquardt’s lead leg with vicious kicks en route to capturing the welterweight title on Saturday night.
Saffiedine will go down as Strikeforce’s last 170-pound champ (Remember that for future trivia purposes).
FYI – Marquardt was a 3-to-1 odds-on favorite to retain his title.
Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma hosted last night’s festivities.
