And then there were 11. With just five days remaining until the curtain is drawn on “UFC on FOX: Johnson vs. Dodson,” the Octagon’s 2013 primetime debut has undergone a last-minute change.
On Monday, the UFC announced Josh Janousek has suffered an undisclosed injury that will force the middleweight out of Saturday’s scrap with Michael Kuiper. Due to his late withdrawal, the organization will not look to locate a substitute to fight Kuiper.
The 185-pound affair was slotted as the card’s opening bout, so the change won’t be a devastating hit to the now-11-fight lineup.
United Center in Chicago, Illinois hosts this weekend’s festivities. Demetrious Johnson puts his flyweight crown on the line against John Dodson in the night’s featured contest.
