Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada is hosting tonight’s festivities. The show is headlined by a featherweight superfight between champion Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar.

1stRound:

Feeling out period in the opening two minutes. Crowd getting anxious. Evans has scored the only points of the fight with two kicks. Nogueira lands a straight left. And another. Evans staggers him with a big right hand. Evans scores a momentary takedown. He tagged Nogueira with a couple of punches as they separated.

5thRound scored it: Evans, 10-9.

2ndRound:

Nice inside leg kick by Evans. Nogueira counters with another straight left. One-two combo by Little Nog. Not the most thrilling fight of the night thus far. Evans fires back with a combo of his own, but eats a body kick in return. Nogueira thwarts a takedown attempt. Nogueira catches him with a right hook. Close round.

5thRound scored it: Nogueira, 10-9.

3rdRound:

This fight has taken a lot of the buzz out of the building that Bigfoot left. Evans thinks he can beat Anderson Silva, but is having issues with this lefty. Nogueira takes a poke in the eye and time is called. Game on. Crowd really raining down boos. Evans fails on a takedown attempt. Nogueira connects on a knee to the midsection. Both fighters raise their hands in victory, but not sure either really “won” the bout.
