The UFC’s 2013 debut on FOX was met with solid results. According to the network, an average of 4.2 million viewers tuned in to watch UFC on FOX 6 this past Saturday.

The two-hour live primetime broadcast propelled FOX to the top in key Male and Adult demographics. The show scored a 3.0 rating in the imperative Men 18-34 demo, which is up 7 percent from their December card.

UFC on FOX 6 featured a flyweight title tilt between champion Demetrious Johnson (Pictured) and John Dodson. The audience peaked at 5.2 million viewers during the featured attraction.

This event benefited greatly from the nonstop advertising it received during FOX’s NFL playoff coverage.

After capturing a solid 5.7 million viewers in November 2011’s debut, the numbers steadily declined for the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion in 2012. UFC on FOX 2 last January garnered 4.7 million viewers, while UFC on FOX 3 and UFC on FOX 4 each notched just 2.4 million viewers.

December’s UFC on FOX 5 rebounded nicely by attracting 4.4 million viewers.

The UFC’s next event on FOX takes place April 20th and showcases a lightweight title scrap between champion Benson Henderson and former Strikeforce champ Gilbert Melendez.
