The Strikeforce invasion continues. Late Monday night, a welterweight affair between Yuri Villefort (Pictured) and Nah-Shon Burrell was added to the UFC 157 lineup.
Both 170-pounders are looking to bounce back from losses. After blasting out of the MMA gates with a perfect 6-0 record, Villefort dropped a split decision defeat to Quinn Mulhern. The May contest was the 21-year-old’s first scrap since undergoing a knee operation that kept him on the pine for 23 months.
Burrell had his six-fight winning streak snapped by Chris Spang in his last outing. “The Rock-N-Rolla” owns a 8-2 pro mark.
A spot opened up on the February 23rd roster when the featherweight bout with Chad Mendes and Manny Gamburyan was pulled due to an injury to “The Anvil.” The middleweight shootout between Josh Neer and Court McGee was promoted from the prelims to the pay-per-view card in its place.
UFC 157 takes place inside Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
