One day after confirming Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano will collide in April, only the second women’s scrap to be announced by the UFC behind Ronda Rousey vs. Liz Carmouche, the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion reported Sara McMann (Pictured) and Alexis Davis are the latest ladies to ink contracts to compete inside the Octagon.
The announcement of their addition was fittingly made during Tuesday’s UFC 157 conference call featuring Rousey and Carmouche, the first females to headline a card for the organization. Tate, Zingano, McMann and Davis will host a special presser next week to discuss their big league debuts.
Although it wasn’t confirmed during today’s call, McMann and Davis are expected to face each other.
McMann owns a perfect 6-0 professional record. The former Olympic wrestling silver medalist was most recently seen beating Shayna Baszler at Invicta 2 in July.
Davis has rattled off wins in five of her last six outings, with her past two victories coming under Invicta’s watch. The former Strikeforce fighter holds a 13-5 mark overall.
