A day after Affliction Entertainment announced that Andrei Arlovski was to headline the promotion’s second event against Josh Barnett, Affliction added two more bouts to their growing October 11th fight card. Jay White will be taking on IFL heavyweight champion Roy Nelson, as well as Antonio Rogerio Nogueira facing off against another IFL fallout, Vladimir Matyushenko.
White only has seven professional bouts under his belt, compiling a disappointing 2-5 record. The Xtreme Couture fighter will certainly have his hands full against the accomplished Nelson.
Nelson has won five consecutive bouts, and seven of his past eight. He left the financially plagued IFL as its heavyweight champion, with his only loss in the promotion coming at the hands of Affliction fighter, Ben Rothwell.
Rogerio Nogueira will be making his second consecutive appearance for Affliction. He is fresh off of his victory over Edwin Dewees just last month.
Matyushenko was one of the most coveted MMA free agents available since the falling of the IFL. At 21-3, the light heavyweight will be looking to pick up his MMA career where he left off, as one of the toughest 205-pounders in the world.
Affliction is expected to announce these official signings at their Wednesday press conference, which is scheduled to take place October 11th at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
