UFC Middleweight Vitor Belfort

Vitor Belfort (Pictured) is done talking about his use of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) – despite the fact he has never technically spoken about being on the controversial treatment.

For the first and last time, Belfort addressed his use of TRT, one day after UFC President Dana White professed the promotion will start to crack down hard on their athletes on the medically-prescribed regimen.

Unfortunately, Belfort addressed the MMA world by way of Twitter. The good news is at least “The Phenom” used TwitPlus so he wasn’t limited to the 140-character restrictions of Twitter.

“This will be last time that I will talk about TRT I never hide from #ufc that I was on the treatment but I admit that I didnt admit to the press,” Belfort tweeted. “I confess that this was my mistake I am MEN enough to admit my mistakes So from now on, guys please don’t fight me if u going to use this as a execuse that’s it. I never lie and never hide from ufc.”

Belfort tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone in 2006.

The only time Belfort has spoken about TRT was prior to last month’s highlight reel victory over Michael Bisping. ESPN asked him pointblank if he had ever taken TRT. The 17-year veteran danced around the question and refused to deny or confirm his use.

Speaking of Bisping, he didn’t initially attack Belfort after his TRT use was brought to light, but the outspoken Brit certainly did during this past weekend’s fan Q&A session by calling Belfort a straight up “cheat.”

Belfort responded to “The Count” on Sunday afternoon, as well. Via Twitter, of course.

“GET IT OVER!! A KICK ON THE HEAD DOSENT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH TRT This call #SKILL,” Belfort wrote.

Belfort battles Luke Rockhold in Brazil later this spring. Rockhold has already said he’ll take great satisfaction out of beating someone on TRT.
