It was lucky number 7 for UFC bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey (Pictured) on Saturday night. Seven professional fights in the books, all ending in first round armbar fashion.
Rousey’s latest victim came in her heavily-hyped big league debut. Liz Carmouche presented the “Rowdy” one with a brief scare early, but Rousey managed to throw her off and lock in her trademark armbar.
Carmouche defended the submission for as long as she could. However, she was ultimately forced to cry uncle with just 11 ticks remaining in the opening stanza.
According to UFC President Dana White, Rousey’s next opponent will likely be the winner of April’s Miesha Tate vs. Cat Zingano matchup. Rousey already made Tate tap last March.
UFC 157 took place inside Honda Center in Anaheim, California. It was the first time two ladies have fought in the UFC. They also headlined Saturday’s pay-per-view broadcast.
