The hottest MMA free agent just happens to be one of its youngest. Former IFL lightweight champion, Chris Horodecki, was in search of a new employer, and although there were many possible suitors fighting for the 155-pounder’s services, he has officially signed with Affliction Entertainment.
Jeff Clark, one of the members from Horodecki’s management team, confirmed that his client was released from his IFL contract last week at the fighter’s request, and since then the phones hadn’t stopped ringing.
“The AFL has come in with a very generous offer,” Clark told Sherdog.com. “But, Affliction has said they will match it or beat it.”
And today, Affliction Entertainment Vice President Tom Atencio, announced that they have signed the youngster.
“We signed Chris Horodecki, which I’m really excited about,” said Atencio. “Everything is falling into place for Las Vegas.”
And, Affliction will be wasting no time as they will have Horodecki competing on their October 11th, “Day of Reckoning” card in at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
No opponent has been named for the 155-pounder, however it was confirmed that he has signed a three fight, non-exclusive deal with the promotion.
Horodecki has compiled a 12-1 record in his young MMA career, and this Shawn Thompkin’s trained fighter has just been getting better and better.
