Well, that didn’t take long. Just hours after reporting an injury had forced flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson out of his April 13th scrap against John Moraga, UFC President Dana White has announced the new bout that will headline “The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale.”
Bantamweight buds Urijah Faber (Pictured) and Scott Jorgensen will now serve as the show’s featured attraction.
“Me n @UrijahFaber gonna putting on damn show at @ufc tuf finale live. Crazy I wouldn’t be fighting if he hasn’t talked me into in college!” Jorgensen tweeted immediately after White’s confirmation.
To which Faber responded, “2 buds punching each other! :). Weird.”
Faber is only four days removed from a first round submission victory over Ivan Menjivar at UFC 157. In his last 11 scraps, “The California Kid” is 0-5 in championship affairs and perfect in six non-title bouts.
Jorgensen, meanwhile, snapped his two-fight skid by submitting John Albert in December.
A yet-to-be announced venue in Las Vegas, Nevada will host the festivities.
Here is the show’s current roster:
Sam Sicilia vs. Maximo Blanco
Miesha Tate vs. Cat Zingano
Daniel Pineda vs. Justin Lawrence
Bart Palaszewski vs. Cole Miller
Travis Browne vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
TUF 17 Finalist vs. TUF 17 Finalist
Urijah Faber vs. Scott Jorgensen
