Exactly one week after being released from the UFC, Jacob Volkmann (Pictured) has already found a new home. The lightweight has signed a multi-fight deal with World Series of Fighting.
Volkmann hinted Tuesday that he had joined the up-start mixed martial arts promotion by tweeting, “Check out WSOF! I am.” MMAFighting.com subsequently confirmed with the company’s vice president that they indeed acquired the 32-year-old’s services.
He is expected to make his promotional debut in June.
Prior to settling with WSOF, Volkmann attempted to join Bellator but was told by the Viacom-owned promotion that they were “full until the summer.”
“Christmas” was last seen getting submitted by Bobby Green at UFC 156. The defeat dropped his overall professional record to 15-4.
Volkmann went 6-4 under the UFC’s watch.
