With the UFC firing athletes at a fast and furious pace, 15-time Octagon veteran Jeremy Stephens (Pictured) will likely be fighting for his big league career against Estevan Payan.
On Wednesday morning, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the featherweights will battle May 25th at UFC 160.
The promotion didn’t do Stephens any favors by pitting him against Payan. “El Terrible” hasn’t lost a scrap since November 2009. The Strikeforce transfer will be riding a seven-fight winning streak into his UFC debut.
Stephens, meanwhile, has dropped three consecutive contests. Given his recent legal troubles, it’s somewhat surprising “Lil’ Heathen” wasn’t handed his pink slip in last week’s firing barrage.
MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the festivities.
Here is the show’s current lineup:
Stephen Thompson vs. Amir Sadollah
Jeremy Stephens vs. Estevan Payan
Abel Trujillo vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
KJ Noons vs. Donald Cerrone
TJ Grant vs. Gray Maynard
Ryan Bader vs Glover Teixeira
Junior dos Santos vs. Alistair Overeem
Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva vs. Cain Velasquez (UFC heavyweight champion)
