With an off-weekend ahead of them, the UFC was busy making several fight announcements on Wednesday. The addition of a 125-pound scrap between Joseph Benavidez (pictured) and Darren Uyenoyama to the UFC on FOX 7 roster was their latest confirmation.
Benavidez bounced back nicely from September’s flyweight finals loss to Demetrious Johnson by cruising to a unanimous decision victory over Ian McCall at UFC 156. The 28-year-old has won five of his last six bouts.
Uyenoyama will be riding a three-fight winning streak into the tango. “BC” was last seen submitting Phil Harris in October.
A bantamweight brawl between Francisco Rivera and Hugo Viana was also confirmed for the lineup.
Both bouts will appear in the card’s prelims.
HP Pavilion in San Jose, California hosts the April 20th event.
