Dana White Sounds Off

UFC President Dana White has been extra busy lately, between bailing out his former Champion “Rampage” Jackson and promoting UFC 87. One thing he’s never too busy for though is making sure his voice is heard. White recently spent some time with the guys at TAGG Radio to discuss various topics around the world of MMA. Check out some classic quotes from the UFC mastermind himself.

When asked if Lyoto Machida is next in line for a light heavyweight title shot:

“Yeah, it’s very likely, yeah. I mean the guy (Lyoto Machida) is an amazing athlete.”

Where Dana White feels Fedor Emelianenko should really be ranked:

“No, I would say that he (Fedor Emelianenko) is a top five heavyweight. He’s not one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, that he’s not, but he’s definitely a top five heavyweight with the annihilation of [Tim] Sylvia.

Here’s my thing, we cut Tim Sylvia. We cut Tim Sylvia. Tim Sylvia’s been boring people for years, and I give Fedor the credit for finally stepping up and fighting someone in the top ten.”

On cross-promoting Jake Shields versus either Georges St-Pierre or Jon Fitch:

“To fight Jake Shields? Uh, no [laughs]. Jake Shields is a nice kid, I’ve met him many times, he’s a good kid. He’s not anywhere near those guys [Georges St-Pierre or Jon Fitch]. I wouldn’t even think twice about that one.”
