When UFC president Dana White revealed Wednesday that Nick Diaz had harassed welterweight king Georges St-Pierre (pictured) in the hotel lobby after UFC 137, some fans thought White simply had his promoter’s cap on trying to douse more fuel onto the already white-hot fire. Well, it appears there was plenty of truth behind White’s tale.

“First of all, I don’t think [St-Pierre] had any business being there. Or maybe on my side of the hotel, in and out of the lobby,” Diaz recalled of the incident during Thursday’s press conference. “I’m gonna be working there, I’m gonna be in and out for need be reasons.

“I suppose the time he’s coming out of an elevator, I stand my ground and he’s gonna try to walk through me and he’s not gonna walk through me. I’m gonna stand there with a hard look on my face and he’s gonna edge his way against the wall to get by. And that’s that.”

Diaz then turned to St-Pierre and asked him to confirm the story.

“That’s all that happened. Isn’t that all that happened?” Diaz inquired.

“Do you really think I’m afraid of you? You think I’m afraid of you, man? Are you crazy in your head, man?” a clearly agitated St-Pierre asked. “I’m not scared of you. You’ll see Saturday if I’m scared of you.”

St-Pierre then slammed his microphone down and continued to seethe in his seat.

The bitter rivals get to settle their beef this Saturday at UFC 158. Bell Centre in Montreal hosts the shootout.
