On Friday afternoon, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced it will be taking its talents back to the Pacific Northwest. UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 inside KeyArena in Seattle, Washington.

No fights were confirmed for the lineup.

The show marks the Octagon’s third consecutive annual event at the home the SuperSonics built.

The UFC debuted in Seattle in March 2011 with “UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Davis” and made their sophomore showing this past December with “UFC on Fox: Henderson vs. Diaz.”

Two Seattle-area athletes currently don UFC belts. Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson is from Parkland, while lightweight king Benson Henderson is from Federal Way.

Henderson defends his throne next month against Gilbert Melendez, so a July return might be too quick of a turnaround for Bendo. Johnson, meanwhile, was pulled from April’s title defense with John Moraga after suffering an undisclosed injury.

No word when Johnson will make his comeback.
