Doesn’t the UFC know the Sweet 16 is going off right now? On Thursday evening, the planet’s most prestigious mixed martial arts promotion announced former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar (pictured) will battle Charles Oliveira at UFC 162.

Edgar will be looking to snap his three-fight losing skid. His past seven bouts have been of the championship variety, three of which were 155-pound rematches.

“The Answer” was last seen dropping a unanimous decision to featherweight king Jose Aldo at UFC 156.

Oliveira found himself on the business end of Cub Swanson’s fist the last time he took center stage. “Do Bronx” has won half of his past four fights.

The 145-pound shootout will likely appear on the main card.

MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the July 6 extravaganza.

Here is the show’s current roster:

Seth Baczynski vs. Brian Melancon

Chris Leben vs. Andrew Craig

Cub Swanson vs. Dennis Siver

Ricardo Lamas vs. “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung

Frankie Edgar vs. Charles Oliveira

Mark Munoz vs. Tim Boetsch

Roger Gracie vs. Tim Kennedy

Chris Weidman vs. Anderson Silva (UFC middleweight champion)
