It appears that WEC 45 will be utilized as a lightweight showcase with former top contender Donald Cerrone and newly signed 155-pound sensation Chris Horodecki each participating in the December 19th event. Although the two will not face each other on this card, expect their paths to cross sooner rather than later.

Cerrone was last seen dropping a hard-fought unanimous decision to Ben Henderson in an interim title bout at WEC 43 earlier this month. Although that scrap went a grueling 5Rounds, it appears that he’ll be more than ready to celebrate the holidays inside the cage.

Cerrone holds an impressive 10-2 overall record, however is only 3-2 for the WEC. It is believed that he will be facing Ed Ratcliff.

The ink is barely dry on Horodecki’s WEC contract, however the company didn’t waste any time in putting him to work. The youngster holds a stellar 13-1 mark and it is believed he will be facing Anthony Njokuani in the Versus broadcast.

Here are the other fighters rumored to be fighting inside The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada:

Bart Palaszewski vs. TBD
Takeya Mizugaki vs. Damacio Page
Anthony Njokuani vs. Chris Horodecki
Donald Cerrone vs. Ed Ratcliff
