Pat Curran (pictured) wasn’t interested in mingling inside Bellator’s circular cage on Thursday night. It took the reigning featherweight champ less than three minutes to submit Shahbulat Shamhalaev in the show’s featured contest.
Curran’s guillotine choke came at 2:38 in the opening round. His win was officially declared a technical submission because his opponent was put to sleep before he could tap.
There seemed to be a bit of controversy at the end of their scrap. Shamhalaev appeared to protest the stoppage, claiming he wasn’t unconscious.
Thankfully for Curran, the image above and video replay below beg to differ.
