An undisclosed injury has forced Gunnar Nelson out of his UFC 160 scrap against Mike Pyle. No need to fret, because the UFC is stacked with welterweight studs.
The promotion announced Wednesday morning Rick Story (pictured) has agreed to serve as substitute on May 25.
Story was one of the division’s top up-and-comers after trouncing Thiago Alves to collect his sixth straight win. However, “The Horror” went on a horrid 2-3 run afterwards.
Thankfully for the 28-year-old, he managed to right the ship by posting a TKO victory over Quinn Mulhern in his last outing.
Pyle will be riding a three-fight winning streak into the shootout. The 37-year-old veteran was most recently seen disposing of James Head in December.
The 170-pound affair will likely appear in the even’t prelims.
MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the gig.
