The UFC rumor mill continues to swirl as various reports have surfaced that pits two former PRIDE fighters against one another for the UFC’s New Year’s Eve event. It was originally rumored that Mauricio “Shogun” Rua would take on Mark Coleman in December, but a recent comment made by Rua suggests that it could be former undisputed light heavyweight champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, who gets the nod.
“Most likely right now it’s looking like Quinton Jackson,” Rua told fans who were allowed to ask him questions. The video can be seen on YouTube if you search for “The MMA Analyst.”
Jackson and Rua have squared off once before in PRIDE with Rua dominating Jackson by using his devastating knees. Reports came out after the fight that Jackson may have suffered from injured ribs.
Whatever the case may be, the December 27th card is starting to look extremely stacked. The UFC heavyweight title will be defended, as well as a possible showdown between Georges St-Pierre and BJ Penn.
