‘UFC on FOX: Henderson vs. Melendez’ Medical Suspensions Released

The California State Athletic Commission has medically suspended every athlete who competed in “UFC on FOX: Henderson vs. Melendez” this past Saturday.

The majority of the 24-fighter roster was issued a precautionary seven-day ban. However, Daniel Cormier (pictured), Jordan Mein, Chad Mendes, Jorge Masvidal and Ramsey Nijem each could be riding the pine for up to six months.

Although, the five fighters can return to action sooner with a doctor’s note.

HP Pavilion in San Jose hosted last weekend’s show.

Yoel Romero: Seven-day suspension

Clifford Starks: Suspended 45 days, with 30 days no contact

Anthony Njokuani: Seven-day suspension

Roger Bowling: Suspended 45 days, with 30 days no contact. Must have neurological exam

T.J. Dillashaw: Seven-day suspension

Hugo Viana: Suspended 45 days, with 30 days no contact

Jorge Masvidal: Suspended 180 days, with 180 days no contact unless cleared by physician for right thumb fracture. In addition, suspended 60 days, with 60 days no contact unless cleared by physician for two top of scalp lacerations

Tim Means: Seven-day suspension

Joseph Benavidez: Suspended 60 days, with 60 days no contact for broken tooth and laceration to right eyebrow unless cleared by physician

Darren Uyenoyama: Suspended 45 days with, 30 days no contact

Myles Jury: Suspended 60 days, with 60 days no contact unless cleared by physician for laceration to right eyebrow

Ramsey Nijem: Suspended 180 days, with 180 days no contact unless cleared by physician. Regardless, suspended 45 days, with 30 days no contact for head trauma

Francis Carmont: Seven-day suspension

Lorenz Larkin: Seven-day suspension

Darren Elkins: Suspended 45 days, with 30 days no contact

Chad Mendes: Suspended 180 days, with 180 days no contact unless cleared by physician for possible right index finger fracture

Main Card:

Matt Brown: Suspended 60 days, with 60 days no contact unless cleared by physician for laceration to right eyebrow

Jordan Mein: Suspended 180 days for a potential left jaw and right orbital fracture. Suspended 60 days for a laceration to his nose.

Nate Diaz: Suspended 60 days, with 60 days no contact unless cleared by physician for facial lacerations to nose and cheek. Otherwise, suspended 45 days, with 30 days no contact

Josh Thomson: Seven-day suspension

Frank Mir: Seven-day suspension

Daniel Cormier: Suspended 180 days, with 180 days no contact unless cleared by physician for swollen right middle finger

Gilbert Melendez: Seven-day suspension

Benson Henderson: Seven-day suspension
