Brash UFC welterweight Josh Koscheck will be fighting Anthony Johnson at UFC 106 on November 21st in Las Vegas according to… none other than Koscheck himself. “I got some big fight news for me. I am fighting nov 21 in Vegas,” Koscheck posted on his Twitter account. “Co main event!!! Haha it’s on baby!!!!“
With Brock Lesnar pulling out of his title bout against #1 contender Shane Carwin due to flu-like symptoms, UFC brass must have felt the pressure to add more star power to the card. Although nothing really replaces Lesnar’s drawing power, this welterweight scrap will certainly help clear the air in a stacked division.
Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin II had already been promoted to the main event in lieu of Lesnar/Carwin being postponed to UFC 108 on January 2nd.
Koscheck did not initially announce who he would be fighting, however Sherdog is reporting that both Koscheck and Johnson have verbally agreed to the fight.
A former contestant on the original season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Koscheck was last seen dominating MMA vet Frank Trigg at UFC 103.
Johnson fought this past Saturday at UFC 104 against Yoshiyuki Yoshida where he knocked out the Japanese fighter in only 41 seconds.
Here’s how the updated UFC 106 card looks:

Marcus Davis vs. Ben Saunders
Phil Baroni vs. Amir Sadollah
