Reigning light heavyweight king Jon Jones (pictured) was an astronomical 10-to-1 odds-on favorite to steamroll Chael Sonnen at UFC 159, so Bones’ first round TKO victory on Saturday night wasn’t too much of a surprise.
However, Jones breaking his big left toe to the point where his bone pierced through the skin was quite shocking … and disgusting.
With the win, Jones tied UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz for most light heavyweight title defenses in Octagon history with five. “Bones” is only 25 years young and is already arguably the most unstoppable force in MMA.
UFC 159 took place inside Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
