Lost in this weekend’s UFC 160 madness was the fact two critical scraps were added to the UFC 164 roster. Former featherweight top contender Chad Mendes (pictured) meets Clay Guida, while up-and-comers Dustin Poirier and Erik Koch collide.
Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin hosts the August 31 festivities.
The Mendes and Guida bout has been a long time coming. They were slated to square off at UFC on FOX 7, but Guida was forced to withdraw from the April contest with an injury. “Money” went on to KO Darren Elkins instead.
Guida hasn’t been seen since taking a split decision win over Hatsu Hioki in January. The tango marked the long-time lightweight’s 145-pound debut.
Poirier and Koch, meanwhile, are both looking to bounce back from disappointing losses. “Diamond” dropped a decision to Cub Swanson in February, while Koch was TKO’d by Ricardo Lamas in January.
Here is the card’s current lineup:
Ben Rothwell vs. Brandon Vera
Chad Mendes vs. Clay Guida
Dustin Poirier vs. Erik Koch
