Conspiracy theorists went wild Tuesday when the UFC announced a knee injury forced Cat Zingano to withdraw from coaching on “The Ultimate Fighter 18.” How convenient that UFC bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey (pictured) now gets to battle bitter rival Miesha Tate for six weeks of filming – they said.
That’s what was supposed to happen all along – they said.
The UFC and FOX clearly paid Zingano off after earning the job by beating Tate, because Rousey vs. Tate is far better reality TV than Rousey vs. Zingano – they said.
Not sure if this helps or hurts the conspiracy theorists’ argument, because they’re set in their ways no matter what, but Zingano tweeted a pic of herself on a hospital bed after surgery.
TUF 18 premieres September 4 on FOX Sports 1. Rousey will defend her crown against Tate once filming wraps.
