UFC Uriah Hall

If you watched “The Ultimate Fighter 17,” then you know that Uriah Hall (pictured) was supposed to be MMA’s next superstar. If you watched the show’s finale, then you saw Hall “mentally break” from the pressures for becoming the sport’s next big thing.

Despite getting upset by buddy Kelvin Gastelum in the middleweight tournament finals, Hall will get another go inside the Octagon. Friday morning, UFC officials announced he’ll meet Nick Ring at UFC on Fox Sports 1 1.

The event takes place August 17 inside TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Hall owns just a 7-3 professional résumé, but his vicious highlight reel finishes on TUF had fans believing he could one day make a run at UFC gold. He’ll get the opportunity knot up his UFC record with a win over Ring.

Ring, meanwhile, has dropped two of his past three scraps after getting his hand raised in his first 12 pro bouts. “Promise” was last seen losing a split decision to Chris Camozzi at UFC 158 in March.

The 185-pound affair will likely appear in the night’s prelims.

Here is the card’s current roster:

Uriah Hall vs. Nick Ring

Joe Lauzon vs. Michael Johnson

Matt Brown vs. Thiago Alves

Alistair Overeem vs. Travis Browne

Chael Sonnen vs. Wanderlei Silva
