UFC Soa The Hulk Palelei

After a brief game of musical heavyweight chairs, Soa Palelei (pictured) has once again been issued his first assignment in his return to the big leagues. Palelei faces Octagon rookie Nikita Krylov at UFC 164.

This marks Palelei’s second stint with the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion. He was one-and-done after losing to Eddie Sanchez at UFC 79 in December of 2009.

The 35-year-old was most recently seen in December successfully defending his AFC title against Sean McCorkle. Palelei’s last defeat came to Daniel Cormier in November 2010.

Palelei was originally slated to battle Stipe Miocic at UFC 161, but Miocic was promoted to a scrap against Roy Nelson instead.

Krylov, who possibly has the best photo in the history of Sherdog.com’s Fight Finder index, makes his UFC debut with a perfect 14-0 mark. All of his scraps have ended in devastating fashion.

UFC 164 takes place August 31 inside Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Here is the card’s current lineup:

Soa Palelei vs. Nikita Krylov

Ben Rothwell vs. Brandon Vera

Chad Mendes vs. Clay Guida

Dustin Poirier vs. Erik Koch

Frank Mir vs. Josh Barnett
