The bad news for Ricardo Lamas, he’s no longer fighting “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung at UFC 162. The good news for the featherweight, he’s still going to get paid as if he stepping inside the Octagon.
On this week’s edition of FUEL TV’s “UFC Tonight,” it was confirmed Lamas has been pulled from the July 6 event. As UFC president Dana White promised over the weekend, Lamas will still be paid his show purse.
Jung, meanwhile, was promoted to a title fight against reigning featherweight king Jose Aldo at UFC 163 after Anthony Pettis was forced to withdraw with a knee injury.
The pivotal middleweight bout between Mark Munoz (pictured) and Tim Boetsch has been bumped to UFC 162’s main card in its place. Continuing the trickle down effect, heavyweights Gabriel Gonzaga and Dave Herman was transitioned from the Facebook stream to the FX broadcast.
MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the festivities.
