UFC WSOF Josh Burkman

Were you one of the people who paid to watch Josh Burkman (pictured) do THIS to Jon Fitch inside The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas? I hate to say it sucks to be you, but, well, it sucks to be you.

According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, of the 2,501 fans that attended “World Series of Fighting: Fitch vs. Burkman,” only 1,107 purchased seats for the show. The promotion gave out 1,394 as comps, while 186 tickets went unsold.

Last Friday’s event garnered a live gate of $106,573.

Whether you paid to get in or was among the majority who entered the venue for $FREE.99, there wasn’t really much to hoop and holler about until the last couple of fights. All five preliminary bouts resulted in unanimous decisions.

However, Burkman did his part to excite fans when he choked Fitch unconscious in merely 41 seconds with a guillotine choke.

WSOF returns to action August 10 at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. A heavyweight shootout between Tyrone Spong and Angel Deanda headlines the gig.
