According to Portal do Vale Tudo, the UFC will be taking its talents back to Belo Horizonte, Brazil for their third show on Fox Sports 1.
In addition, the Brazilian outlet reported a pair of critical scraps for the September 4 event. Light heavyweights Ryan Bader (pictured) and Glover Teixeira are expected to meet, while middleweights Ronaldo “Jacare” Jacare” Souza and Yushin Okami will also do battle in jiu jitsu country.
Bader and Teixeira were initially slated to fight this past May at UFC 160. However, Bader suffered an undisclosed injury and was replaced by James Te Huna, who was subsequently submitted by Teixeira in the opening round of their contest.
Teixeira will be riding a 19-fight winning streak into the shootout. His last four victories have come inside the Octagon. Bader, meanwhile, bounced back from a devastating lights out loss to Lyoto Machida in August by submitting Vladimir Matyushenko in January.
Okami didn’t fare so well the last time he visited Brazil. The former top contender was easily disposed of by reigning middleweight champ Anderson Silva at UFC 134. He was then upset by Tim Boetsch in his next outing.
“Thunder” has since rattled off three consecutive victories following the brief skid.
Jacare made his big league debut in spectacular fashion last month by choking Chris Camozzi unconscious. The former Strikeforce champion has won eight of his past nine contests.
Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the main card live in North America.
Here are the athletes expected to perform in Brazil:
