You are looking at the UFC’s new middleweight champion. How do we know? Because Chris Weidman (pictured) and his entire team have told us so.
Of course, there’s still the minor formality of beating reigning 185-pound king Anderson Silva on July 6 at UFC 162.
However, with Weidman’s harsh words and abundance of confidence heading into the biggest fight of his life, why not bet the farm on the underdog? The risk could pay off quite handsomely.
Weidman is slightly more than a 2-1 dark horse against Silva, while “The Spider” checks in as nearly a 3-1 odds-on favorite to retain his throne.
BTW, Silva was also pegged at -280 when he trounced Chael Sonnen in his last title defense.
