Ronda Rousey keeps beating Miesha Tate (pictured) at everything. Not only did Rousey submit her archenemy to capture the Strikeforce bantamweight crown in their initial encounter, which essentially started the “Rowdy” one’s ascent to mainstream superstardom, but Rousey also landed on the pages of ESPN the Magazine’s “The Body Issue” a year before Tate.
The good news for Tate, at least she’s one of 21 athletes who will be showing off their buff bod in the 2013 edition. However, Rousey one-ups “Cupcake” again because she scored a commemorative cover in last year’s edition.
The issue hits newsstands July 12.
Tate and Rousey are currently serving as opposing coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter 18.” The bitter rivals will square off for Rousey’s crown once filming wraps on the reality show.
In addition to Rousey, Tate joins the likes of former Strikeforce star Gina Carano, UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones and Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos and her then-husband Evangelista Santos as MMA fighters to appear in the feature. Randy Couture’s cauliflowered ear also made a cameo a few years back.
The other athletes slated to pose in their birthday suits in this year’s magazine include Matt Harvey, Colin Kaepernick, Kenneth Faried, Kerri Walsh Jennings, Giancarlo Stanton, Swin Cash, Courtney Force, John Wall, Vernon Davis, John Isner, Sydney Leroux, Carly Booth, Joffrey Lupul, Elena Hight, Agnieszka Radwanska, Chris Sharma and Daila Ojeda, Marlen Esparza and Tarah Gieger and 77-year-old golf legend Gary Player.
