The injury bug is starting to do its thang again. On Friday morning, one day after the UFC announced four fights on their “UFC on FOX: Johnson vs. Moraga” card were affected by injuries, the promotion’s Brazilian Twitter account reported Josh Koscheck (pictured) will have to exit his UFC 163 scrap against Demian Maia with a wound.

No word on Koscheck’s injury or how long the welterweight will be forced to ride the pine.

With no top tier welterweights currently available and game time just 22 days away, the UFC has decided to pull Maia from the card and have the August 3 show move forward with 12 bouts.

Koscheck and Maia were slated to take third-to-top billing in the lineup. No word on which preliminary bout will now get bumped to the main card.

HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil hosts the festivities. A featherweight title tilt between champion Jose Aldo and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung headlines the pay-per-view broadcast.
