Former UFC middleweight Brian Stann (pictured) may have retired from MMA just two weeks ago, but he’ll be sitting only inches away from the Octagon when it returns to Brazil on August 3.
It was announced on this week’s edition of FUEL TV’s “UFC Tonight” that Stann will replace longtime UFC color commentator Joe Rogan at UFC 163. Stann will rock the mic alongside play-by-play man Mike Goldberg.
Rogan has prior commitments and is expected to return when the UFC debuts on Fox Sports 1 on August 17.
Stann decided to call it quits earlier this month to spend more time with his family and pursue a post-fighting career in sports broadcasting. Stann, one of MMA’s most articulate speakers, will work for FOX covering ACC college football games starting this fall.
