Two fighters that were initially slated to compete at UFC 88 have been forced to withdraw due to injury. UFC light heavyweight James Lee was supposed to face Tim Boetsch, but has suffered an arm injury and will be replaced by Mike Patt. Jason Day, who also been pulled due to an arm injury, will be replaced by Jason MacDonald against Jason Lambert.
Injuries during training are a part of the sport, however it is odd to have two fighters suffer injuries so close to the September 6th card, let alone with a similar injury, on the same day.
UFC 88 will be held at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. It will be headlined by Rashad Evans taking on former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell.
Here is the finalized card for UFC 88:
Jason Lambert vs. Jason MacDonald
Mike Patt vs. Tim Boetsch

Roan Carneiro vs. Ryo Chonan
