It’s hard to believe, but veteran Robbie Lawler (pictured) is still just 31 years old. Lawler has been around the block and back again, though it appears the latest version of “Ruthless” is the baddest UFC fans have ever witnessed.
Lawler has been inside the Octagon twice since exiting the promotion in 2004 and both of his fights have ended in the same fashion – him unleashing violent strikes on his battered opponent.
Last time, it was Josh Koscheck who was on the business end of his haymakers. On Saturday, Bobby Voelker discovered the face-to-shin defense is not the business.
While Lawler’s assault was vicious, it wasn’t good enough to pocket an extra $50,000 for “Knockout of the Night” honors. Melvin Guillard took that award with his beating on Mac Danzig.
UFC on FOX 8 took place Saturday inside KeyArena in Seattle, Washington.
