‘UFC on FOX: Johnson vs. Moraga’ Salaries Released

The Washington State Department of Licensing has released the official salaries for all of the contestants who competed in Saturday’s “UFC on FOX: Johnson vs. Moraga” event.

Man, the little guys never get any love. Despite successfully defending his flyweight crown against John Moraga in the show’s featured attraction, champion Demetrious Johnson tied with Danny Castillo as the night’s fifth highest earner.

“Mighty Mouse” scored just $58,000 for his victory, with half of his check coming via win bonus.

Veteran Robbie Lawler (pictured) nearly tripled Johnson’s payday. “Ruthless” pocketed a cool $156,000 for knocking out Bobby Voelker.

Please keep in mind, the numbers that get reported to the athletic commissions are only of what’s required. These figures do not include deductions for items such as licenses and taxes.

Additionally, they do not contain money paid by sponsors or any bonuses from the UFC. These royalties can include Fight Night bonuses, top secret discretionary bonuses, etc., which can oftentimes represent a substantial portion of a fighter’s total income.

KeyArena in Seattle, Washington hosted Saturday’s event.
