Travis Browne (pictured) survived an early onslaught from former UFC heavyweight top contender Alistair Overeem on Saturday night to post the best highlight reel of his career.
Browne found himself on the ground after throwing an errant flying knee and Overeem pounced. “The Demolition Man” unleashed a flurry so vicious that it appeared the referee would step in and stop the assault. However, Browne managed to weather the storm, which had many wondering if Overeem had punched himself out.
Next thing you know, Browne fires off a front kick to Overeem’s face that would make Anderson Silva proud (or should we say, make Steven Seagal proud). The strike dropped Overeem like a sack of potatoes and a couple of punches on the canvas later he was unconscious.
“UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen” took place inside TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
